It is Christmas in New York, but for two young lovers, Jim and Della, the prospects are bleak as both are out of work and penniless. Their dilemma is solved when both part with their most precious possessions in order to buy presents for each other, thereby creating, at least for a magical moment, an aura of warmth and giving in the cold, impersonal winter city. In addition to their story, the play captures the hilarious plight of a cheerful vagrant names Soapy, who wants only to get arrested so he can spend the night in a cozy cell, all gracefully enhances by tuneful songs and neatly tied together narrations from other city folk.

Children’s Letters to God
A musical based on the book by Stuart Hample and Eric Marshall with music by David Evans and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen
(Presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.)
September 10, 2011 at The Gathering House
September 22-25, 2011 at Centrepointe Theatres
Inspired by actual letters from kids writing to God, the story follows the lives of five young friends as they voice beliefs, desires, questions and doubts common to all people but most disarmingly expressed by children. Tuneful songs and assorted scenes explore timeless issues such as sibling rivalry, divorce, holidays, loss of a beloved pet, the trials of being unathletic and first love. This entertaining show carries a universal message which crosses the boundaries of age, geography, and religion.

A cycle of plays by Don A. Mueller
(Produced by special arrangement with Baker's Plays)
April 16, 2011 at The Gathering House
April 19-24, 2011 at Shenkman Arts Centre
A fresh and powerful portrayal of the crucifixion story exploring the raw emotions and conflicting perspectives of those who experienced the life and death of Christ. Presented in a contemporary setting, Eyes Upon the Cross is told through the eyes of close to 30 different characters, whether friends or opponents, believers or critics, those who were there, or who might have been there. Characters range from a temple servant, to a freed criminal; from the outcasts and those who followed Him, to the one who betrayed Him; from the man who tried Him, the one who gave the order, to the woman who gave Him wine.

Telling the Story
A musical collective by 9th Hour Theatre Company
June 18, 2010 at the Metropolitan Bible Church
The premiere production was a fantastic start to the vision of 9th Hour Theatre Company. The show was a collective piece showcasing almost 40 distinct musical numbers and dramatic scenes from various artistic sources, woven together to uniquely tell the overarching story of God and humanity from creation to the reconciliation of man to God. Overall, there were close to 60 performers featured in the show from all across the national capital region, varying with talents of dance, music, singing, acting, or a combination. There were also many other volunteers who contributed their time and skills in helping behind the scenes in areas such as technical support, lighting, sound, music, photography, choreography, publicity, and marketing.
